Dominica is on everyone's mind! The world now knows that Hurricane Maria devastated Dominica. The relief efforts have begun in earnest, and the world appears to be responding.
Reports coming out of Dominica paint a picture of a nation in significant need at the present time. It is almost paradoxical that a nation which traditionally provides food for so many Caribbean islands is now in need of food. One person remarked to me this week, "Antigua is feeling the effects of Dominica's inability to provide food at present. I walked through the market in St. John's, and the stalls were empty. There are no boats coming from Dominica."

We connected with a company named ONDECK Antigua who owns the sailing boat, "Spirit of Juno."
We pray that these relief supplies would have made someone's life a little more comfortable as Dominica seeks to cope in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The South Leeward Mission plans to send another set of supplies to Dominica shortly.
