As part of the Adventist Youth Ministries Global Youth Day (GYD) initiative, on Friday 15th March, 2019, about 50 energetic and excited kindergarten students of the Seventh-day Adventist Primary School along with their teachers, Mrs. Coreen Patrick and Mrs. Marion Brown, distributed water to persons traveling on the Michael's Mount Drive.
According to the Youth Ministries department website, the "vision of GYD is to recapture the reality of Adventist youth as a global movement mobilized for service, contributing to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ".
The kindergartners were engaged in this event between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Due to the overwhelming nature of the event, the students were assisted by Mrs. Jasmin Underwood-Joseph, Mrs. Claudette Mathurin, Mrs. Debbie Hazelwood, and the principal, Mr. Robert Nicholas. Collectively, the group was able to distribute about 15 cases of water under the theme," Jesus is the Water of Life". Students encouraged persons to choose Jesus every day in order to be ready for His second advent as they gave out the water.
The event did not go unnoticed as an ABS Television crew provided some coverage of the event and gave Teacher Marion Brown the opportunity to share the mission of the School and the students in this special event.
Kudos to the Seventh-day Adventist Primary School for executing such an event where even the little ones can participate in a noble exercise to highlight the activities of Global Youth Day.
