Thirteen St. Vincent and the Grenadines Pathfinders and Leaders are currently attending the International Camporee in Oshkosh - August 12-17. Themed ‘Chosen’, the 5-day camporee will have attracted campers from over 100 countries around the world and attendance this year is expected to be 55,000 or more.
Participants engage in a number of activities: trade pins, earn honour patches, exhibit drilling/marching skills, showcase talent and compete in sporting activities. Pathfinders will also undertake community service projects in and around Oshkosh.
No doubt, our Pathfinders will benefit immensely from the expansive Oshkosh experience and bring back much to share with the local groups in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
NB. CARU Communications has confirmed that other pathfinders from the Southern Caribbean were also in attendance and feedback provided indicated that this was a memorable and enjoyable event. Several Pathfinder indicated they will gladly attend another Oshkosh event.
